The initiative was born out of a humourous yet nevertheless self-reflective conversation about both the familiarity and
informality that comes along with years of true friendship, as well as reflection about some of our specific group attribute
like 'mild sarcasm', 'loving yet prankish and comical bullying' and 'playful retort'! As a result, an affectionate decision
was made to formally and systematically engage the Creative word to assist this originally small group of friends to continue
fortifying their inter-personal relationships and of course, knowledge of the Faith.
Our Mission
Since its official inception at the end of November, and with its first meeting on the 1st of December, 2004, starting
with an email containing the following quote, a group of old and new friends from Vancouver's lower mainland have been coming
together to engage in deepening and a shared transformation of character; "Humour, happiness, joy are characteristics of a
true Bahá'í life. Frivolity palls and eventually leads to boredom and emptiness, but true happiness and joy and humour that
are parts of a balanced life that includes serious thought, compassion and humble servitude to God are characteristics that
enrich life and add to its radiance." ADJ, 25

More on BFB
Also worth noting, despite an original intended mandate and attempts at keeping the group intimate in both familiarity
and number, what began as a small group of 5 members, is now host to roughly 30 both consistent as well as occasional total
participants, and the group simply seems to keep on growing!
Furthermore, and a most significant characteristic of
this group, is the rich religious and cultural diversity of its members, consisting of Baha'i, Muslim, Jewish and Christian
members, all of whom bring an invaluable contribution to the group dynamic and perspective.

Becoming a Member
... if you're REALLY lucky.
Or you can try to lovingly bully your way in.
Either way.
